Proteas are curious botanical novelties, which are used extensively in the exotic cut flower industry, with their dazzling array of size, shapes, colors.

Buds of abundance of silky flowerheads, whose feathery fringed bracts curve gently inwards at the top. Protea flowers can be dried to make everlasting arrangements. Drought tolerant. Hight to 6'. Full sun.

Native to Africa; these stately shrubs are grown for cut flowers and sought by florists all over the world. Flowerheads are composed of fuzzy leaf sheaths of silvery pink, overlapping each other to form a cup shaped flowerhead. Leaves are leathery and oleander shaped. One of our favorites!!!

Grown for cut flowers, this cultivator sports a dark reddish cone with fuzzy yellow high-lights at it's tips. A fantastic plant withstanding temperatures to freezing. Sturdy blue-green leaves on a medium size shrub, evergreen year round. Wonderful for the drier part of your tropical landscape requiring sandy quick draining soil, kept on the dry side.

Native to South Africa these shrubs to small trees are grown as ornamentals and for the cut flower trade. Popular for it's stiff leaves that turn red at the top of it's foliage to form a ruby-red inflorescence. Grow in sandy fast draining soil or container. Hardy to light freeze!

These cheery spreading bushes up to 4' are topped with tulip like flower heads, rich creamy gold with scarlet centers. Thriving in many types of soils, but best in a well drained acidic, sandy soil. Foliage surrounding the pineapple like bracts is multicolored of yellow, green and red. Wonderful for cut flower lasting many weeks.

Similar to flame tip, this species sports a yellow bract, surrounded by longish rather fancy lemon colored leaves. A popular foliage protea that's added to many tropical floral displays as a foliage filler. Hardy to the 30's.

Shrub to small tree native to Africa, they are widely grown as ornamentals and for the cut flower trade, this particular variety is slightly furry and gold in a 3" across looping pincushion shaped flower head. Foliage is lanceolate stiff and gray/green. Developoed at the University of Hawaii experimental station in Kula Maui.

A beautiful bush 3' to 4' tall and very dense, small, leathery gray-green leaves cover its entire structure, inflorescence are showy, waxy, symmetrical and globular. They are curled tightly in the center lika a orange pincushion 3 1/2" across, the heads of the flower sometimes nod to one side. A long lasting beautiful cut flower, one bush can produce as many as 70 flowers in one season, flowers are usually borne from January through May. Zone 8 and higher.
